Tim Rutter: 1986, Gareth "Alfie" Thomas try

It was 1996 and I was Standing on the old East Terrace at Cardiff Arms Park watching Wales play Australia, when Gareth (Alfie) Thomas intercepted a pass on his own 22 and ran the length of the field straight towards us.

It seemed like the whole of Australia was tracking him down, and the whole terrace was going mental willing towards the line. It showed many people just how quick he was, and I've followed him ever since.

I have never been so excited!

Tim Rutter
