Hull came to Headingley when they were at their pomp in the early eighties.
For some reason the match started a bit early at two minutes to three. They kicked off and Andy Smith went to trap the ball but it bounced off his knee and into the arms of the on rushing John Muggleton who scored.
Some of the fans were still coming into the ground and one, who saw the players out on the pitch and lining up, said to me ‘Oh, have they started yet?’ I had to break the news to him that we were already 5-0 down even though it wasn’t yet three o’clock!
