I've watched Leeds since the mid 1980's, but my favourite times were in the late 1990's watching Graham Murrays Leeds team.
In that time Leeds won a Challenge Cup and lost a Grand Final and I got to see some titanic games of Rugby League.
We had some massive forwards, Fleary, Farrell and a young Adrian Morley who played a very physical brand of Rugby. This enabled us to enjoy the mercurial talents of Iestyn Harris who on occasion won games for us on his own. I remember one particular game away at Wakefield on a scorching hot day when Harris literally single handedly gave Wakefield a lesson on how to play the game.
I will never forget being at Central Park for what turned out to be an infamous game against Wigan who our main rivals for the title. Morley set the tone for the game with a monster hit from the kick off. Wigan and in particular Mick Cassidy, took their revenge with a sickening "assault" on him later on. A lesser man would have been out injured for months, yet "Moz" returned to the field in the second half. The game was won by Leeds thanks to Brad Godden dancing into the corner, and in all the years of watching RL, never have I been in a crowd that went as wild as it did when we clinched the game with that try. Iestyn Harris was of course immense throughout.
It was this game that summed up those years for me. A brutal hard game won by brilliance and skill.
