Stuart Charmak, Headingley Rugby Voices: Lewis Jones

The greatest I ever saw has to be Lewis Jones - although I was always impressed by ‘Farmer’ Fairbank for some reason and the way he ran with his knees up.

But Lewis was magical, there was all the furore surrounding his arrival and how great he was going to be, and he was. Still, in my minds eye, I can visualise his genius running into midfield and towards the opposition and another Leeds player coming out of nowhere and across the back of him at which point he somehow flipped the ball up behind him to his team-mate who went on a diagonal run to the line without a finger being laid on him because the defence were all still watching Lewis.

They didn’t see a thing - sheer brilliance.
