Mum could always tell the result of the game from the way Dad walked down the drive after coming back from the match. If his hat was on the back of his head, Leeds had won, if it was pulled over his eyes it was going to be a very quiet tea.
We got a Green Final every Saturday - the lad used to come down Lidgett Lane shouting and I would run out and get one - and I would let Dad read it before cutting out all the reports and pictures for my scrap book. It used to sit alongside my autograph book and the programmes, they were my prized possessions.
