Playing at Twickenham for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust against the House of Commons/Lords four years ago, it was an incredible, once in a lifetime experience. Mark Lidstone
I kept a diary at the age of 18/19 of my exploits in East Africa for three years in ‘62/‘63/’64 and last year was the commemoration for the hundred year awards so I was looking back at what I was doing fifty years ago. I was playing rugby in the Rwenzori Mountains ‘The mountains of the moon’ in the north west of Uganda. We had to fly in and saw this mass of bright green, then we saw a pitch with rugby posts poking out, we thought ‘blimey we’re going to be playing on that!’ I’d have never have thought it. Anon
My favourite memory is celebrating our 125th season two years ago and we played an invitational Wasps Legends team game and I was captain for that game. Chris, Bromley RUFC
I'm currently club captain at Handsworth, my fondest memory was that during my second year of captaincy we won the first major trophy in the club's history. Handsworth is one of the oldest clubs in the country, it took us 125 years to land a major trophy! Being the captain at that moment was very special. safe to say we celebrated and it was something of a messy night! Michael Rowland & Paul Rodgers, Handsworth RUFC
Getting into the first team when I was 24 years old, I’m 44 now so it’s been a long time. I’ve had lots of memories such as good wins and tough games because I’m still playing now and it’s a lot harder now as it takes more time to recover. It’s great being with all the guys, I’m still playing with people now that I was back then and they’re all in their forties. We all still meet up. Mark Hooley, Ripon RUFC
