While living in New Zealand the Great Britain rugby team came to visit. I went round to the dressing room to say hello to Bill Sayers, the hooker who played for Wigan and who I knew quite well. Two rugby officials stopped me to ask where I was going when up came Bill. "Johnny" he shouted, while reaching up to shake hands. "What the 'ell are you doing in a dead place like this?" "I love it here Bill and I enjoy their rugby!" A great memory taking me back to the sixties.
