Rob Milner: memories from the 80s and 90s

Many memories of the Wire. Three that really stand out

- The semi-final at Wigan in 1990 when we beat Oldham. I went on my own as my Mum had died and my Dad just couldn't bring himself to go. As I walked up Paul Bishop our scrum half was standing talking to some people in front of the stadium. Disaster, he wasn't playing he had broken his hand at home. Really tight game with Oldham having a try disallowed in the last minute that would have given them a kick to win it. After the final whistle I just sat in the stand for 10 minutes with my head in my hands, couldn't believe it. My Dad and my 7 year old daughter came with us to Wembley and even though we got beaten it was great to have 3 generations of us there

- Des Dummond against Australia when Wire played them at Wilderspool stopping Mal Meninga dead with a Dessie special tackle head first into his chest. The expression on Meningas face was a treat

- The Battle of Wilderspool game versus Wigan in 1988?, and particularly seeing Cull rise up from an apparent coma to fight Andy Goodway who stood on him as he was being sent off for stiff arming him. Unforgettable game
