Paul Williamson: 1969, my first match

My first memory was in 1969 aged 5 when my Dad first took me to Wilderspool. We played Whitehaven and won 69 - 6 I think. The ground was brilliant and going up to the Main Stand where my dad paid but I was allowed to go under the turnstiles summed them days up. Then on Fridays we went to The Willows to watch every Salford home game when they had a great team. Then every Sunday we watched Warrington home and away.

And forty four years later I am still watching the game and so has my daughter from the age of 4. Kate is now 13. Rugby League is the best sport.
