My life changed for ever when I won my first cap. I became the 874th player to play for Scotland and emulated my Grandpa, George Ritchie, who won his first cap 60 years before in 1932 - he was cap no. 484.
This picture is me meeting Princess Anne just before KO and my Grandpa meeting her Grandpa 60 years earlier.
I can remember it like it was yesterday; the nerves, the noise, the anthems, the pace of the game, the intensity - the game was over in a flash. I was 20-year-old kid from Dundee getting capped out of the 2nd Division and living my dream!
In these tough times, it is important to remember the days that were so important and shaped the person I am now.
Keep dreaming people as they do come true!
