Bill Beaumont: two debuts

I made my Lancashire debut in November 1972 against Cumberland and Westmorland (now Cumbria!) three days after the North West Counties beat the All Blacks at Workington.

My England debut was 18 January 1975 at Lansdowne Rd when called in as a replacement second row for Roger Uttley who cried off on the Friday morning. We lost 12-9 and I marked Willie John McBride, and my only claim to fame that day was winning one of his lineout throws.
