When my husband, Gerald, retired from teaching, he did a lot of work at Fartown. In fact he did all the under drawing, made it fireproof. On two occasions when they tried to burn the stand down it refused to burn, so I think he did a pretty good job.
Then somebody complained that he hadn’t left a warning notice after he laid new, wet cement, and their dog had walked over it. Gerald said he didn’t know dogs could read.
Our best supporter at one time was a dog sitting on the terrace, it was always there. I think it belonged to one of the players and there he was all the time
